what they said. i have an 05 sti and have been thinking about changing the wheels...that wider track certainly limits opportunities for bargains on ebay though!

It will be a euro import then, UK cars had the "optional extra" as a standard feature, hence they went up 1k as that was the cost of the dccd!

The doorcards are trimmed on the armrest and dash and centre console tidied up a bit, also spec c suspension geometry larger wheel bearings improved dccd with extra sensors rear wheelarch trims and different rear bumper to suit, on jdm I believe engine is as spec c with better cams not sure about uk engines though as I went jdm

Engine internals are the same for the Spec C and JDM STi on MY04 and MY05 and onwards, turbo is different with the spec c using a VF36 (roller bearing) and the JDM STi uisng a VF37 (sleave bearing).

The MY04 had 0.1mm less valve clearance on the exhaust than the MY05, the MY04 has 0.05mm less lift on the exhaust valve than the MY05.

Oh...so if there's an intake temp sensor on a JDM '05 STi, do I not need to fit the aftermarket one in the FMIC pipework now I've gone Syvecs?

Nope, just connect into the plenum mounted sensor, as long as the after market ECU is compatible with it.

The sensor isn't used by the stock ECU as standard, it was put there for GroupN rules, to make use of it with the stock ECU you simple swap a couple of wires at the ECU connector, then remap the ECU using the GroupN coding. I havn't used that as the GroupN coding doesnt have active knock correction, which is important when using fuel souced at the road side rather than from a controlled batch, as the GroupN cars get to use.

Can you point me in it's general direction please? Is it part of the sensor "collection" that's part of the throttle body assembly (TPS sensor is there, I think) - I don't recall seeing any unused sensors in/on the plenum?

It's mounted seperately under the central area of the plenum, it's wired up, wires are available at the ECU connector.

Hmm - can't see under plenum very easily, so difficult to trace the wiring

Do you happen to have the pinout for an '05 JDM STi ECU so I can locate the pins both for that sensor and the temp sensor that's in the MAF? I've searched on here, and elsewhere to no avail.

Still not managed to find the pin for the plenum temp sensor at the ecu

I thought I had, but now realise I was looking at the ECU pinout of an '05 normally aspirated model not an STi

So if anyone happens to know the pinout it would be appreciated
