Help with a mystery dynograph???
After years of driving family and friend's scoobys with a bitter jealousy in my heart I have finally bought myself one today.
It is an epic drive and really puts a smile on my face but there is a mystery.
Whilst looking through the paperwork, service records etc. I found a dyno print out showing the WHP as 267 but i cant see how this is possible as the only obvious modifications are the exhaust (cat-back i think), a dump valve and grooved brake discs.
Is it possible for it to be 267 HP with just the exhaust or might there be mods i can't see?
Its a 2005 blobeye WRX but i got it from a dealership so i never met the previous owner.
Please someone help me with the case of the mystery dyno.

there is nothing on the print out to suggest where it was done. When i get a minute i'll scan it and upload it if that might help.
In the vehicle section it says "subaru 5mt". dunno what that means?

267 at the wheels sounds unlikely. 267 at the fly without a decat and remap sounds a tad optimistic also. Is it a JDM or Euro? JDM may give a figure close to that on a 'friendly' dyno?
Best not to get too bogged down in figures. If it's an epic drive then surely that's
Enjoy!

its a uk model.Had another check and it says base whp 264 @5970rpm, base wtq 248 @5054rpm.
It also has 2 other lines on the graph marked as Comparison whp 314 @5758rpm and comparison wtq 295@ 5155rpm
The only explanation i can think is it is for a different car but its weird that would be in with all the reciepts and service records. Its possible the down pipe is decatted i haven't got underneath her properly yet.
I'm not too bothered about figures but it would be nice if i bagged an impreza with a little more pull, especially as i have no budget left for mods.

You should ask more questions as 267 bhp at the wheels requires more than a re-map. There will need to have been a turbo change and other supporting mods. This is more like 330-340 bhp at the fly (which is what people normally quote) I think??? Also would need an FMIC for this.
You sure the power is at the wheels???

Ok this is what i've got people:
Sorry but i'm new to having my own scooby so i'm not used to these things.
If this is true then what should i be looking for under the bonnet to confirm.
There is no FMIC. No iduction kit.
The exhaust is 3" catback but noisier than i would have expected.
There is a dump valve and a few styling mods.
Could there be some hidden mods?
and yeah i know it says 264 not 267. my mistake.

And therefore not calcuated on the same basis that we (and the rest of the world) calculate as the yanks choose to ignore the standard means of power correction and have their own unique basis lol.
Normal rule of thumb is that yankee wheel horsepower is about the same as our flywheel figures.
Get it dyno'd on a trusted uk dyno , then figure what you can do to chase the figures/performance you are after or just drive it.

yet more evidence the yanks no nothing about cars. lol.
well i'm happy with 264 bhp for now if that is the case.
reckon i'll drive it for a while and get a good feel for the car and then decat down pipe and remap.
Got my first scooby wave yesterday too. Love it! feels good to join the club.
