Default Best Soudning Air Filter..

I currently have a k&N cone air filter, I recall driving someones car last year and the indiction kit sounded excellent, not too sure if he had a k&N Apollo or a Pipercross one.

Anyone know what would be the best sounding one?

The Pipercross Viper looks good

my mate had a quickshift induction kit from memory on his clio sport. It was metal filter & that sounded really good. Obviously downside was the filtration capabilities of that compared to a proper gauze like K&N or Green.

You shouldent be picking a filter just because it makes a silly wooshy noise, you should be picking one that actually does it's job.

More noise and less power sucking in all that hot air, cant beat a decent panel filter.

No but when you've got a front mount there isn't much of an option. Can always make up a surround and a feed for it

Good point, however most will just bolt one on and think that noise equals power

Probably you are read old article(1999) about "older model" of HKS Mega Flow which at this time use just one layer of foam, now these kits use 2 layers or 3 layers.
And about the induction kit,if it does job and don't killing your MAF or etc.

For induction noise, a foam filter will provide the most sound
