Changing the battery on a 99 classic

Default Changing the battery on a 99 classic

I need to change my battery but am worried about the alarm keypad thing in the glovebox, my question is, if i change my battery do i need the pin code for the alarm pad as i dont have it??

You could always piggy back a spare battery using jump leads, remove the original battery carefully, then refit new battery to terminals, then disconnect piggy back battery.

Had my battery off for 3 weeks while fixing engine, and had no probs.

Sort yourself out the pin code before you do it. You should do it sooner or later, in case your fob stops working.
If you have a working fob, you can change the PIN. There are loads of guides on here.

no need to touch the keypad, just change the battery and it will be fine, did mine few weeks back no problems.

He should do it anyway. there have been plenty of times someone's fob has stopped working, and they don't know the PIN. Expensive problem.

Ok sounds good, am just going to change it over in an hour or so, have no choice as my battery is on its last legs now the cold has set in, have 6 days of early shifts starting at 5 am so cant take the risk.

As advised i will look into the keycode problem, do i ring subaru and ask them or sigma?

I changed the battery on my99 turbo. No problems with the alarm at all!
