Default Horrible Squealing Sound

Hi All - i recently had a cambelt change, and in the process the garage also did the air con belt as apparently it was starting to go. I went to start the car today and it is making a really horrible squealing sound, and if i leave it running for more than about 10secs it starts to smell as if something is burning. Is this likely to be the air con belt slipping? As it is only happening since the change, and I believe the cambelt has teeth, so it isnt likely to be this (please feel free to correct me if im wrong).

Will be getting it looked at again tomorrow by the same garage that did the replacement, but any advice in the meantime would be appreciated

Yup, sounds like slipping belt and the rubber smell backs that up. Cambelt is a toothed belt so it is not that.

aux belt is slipping bu sound of it.. probably just wants adjusting a bit tighter? although i have known some cars to hum/whine after a timing belt change due to the tension being to tight and causing the belt to be to tight also.. not sure if the scoobies do the same?

more than likely the aux belt tho

It could be the aircon belt pulley seizing - that happened on mine a couple of years ago - exactly the symptoms you describe.
