Default STi inlet manifold- red?

Should all STi inlet manifolds be red? Reason I ask is that i was looking at a version 6 typr r on autotrader and the pics of the engine shown it with a silver one, I was under the impression that all STi's had red ones

Lots of them flaked really bad, it might just be a case that somebody has cleaned it up.

Posting a picture of the engine bay would be your best bet, that and the model code.

v2 onwards had the red inlet,, v1 didnt as there was only 200 made i think

be very wary as to weather the engine has gone in the past and a previous owner has replaced with a wrx lump?? are the wrx inlets smaller diameter 2?

on the other hand could be a good en and has had a rebuild and they steam cleaned the paint off and never painted it??

post the link to it??

wayne

A V6 sti should have a red inlet manifold.

I know some early sti's didn't have a red inlet manifold my V2 has a silver inlet but has had a few engine changes in the past and is running V3 heads and V3 inlet lol
