well annoyed.....
After checking the service manual for my car which hase been fully serviced since day1, I noticed that in pencil for the 45k mile service the garage wrote "cam belt not fitted" under the stamp so I have booked my car in for a cam belt change at a Subaru specialist local to myself for tomorrow. £290 for the cam belt and tensioner replacement. Really annoyed as the car has done 63k miles now.
I only spotted it cos I got my book stamped for the 60k mile service (3k miles late I know, but the last service was stamped at 55k miles, so that was late also. Annoyed me though that the car should have had the cam belt changed at 45k miles.
Seems the previous owner decided to save a few quid - glad I found it before the belt snaps and costs me cost to £2.5k to fix.
Ive done 3k miles since buying the car in August

If it helps...
I was chatting to a guy years ago who had a Legacy come in with the original belt on at 110,000 miles, and only one oil change.
He pointed out that so long as it doesn't get contaminated with oil/petrol it will last forever.
Especially driven by a skinflint farmer.
LOL
