hi how much water should my car go through as i could hear the water going through the matrix when i start up so when i checked my coolant bottle was empty and the header tank was half full not overheating its an impreza modded to 340bhp 340ft/lb torque thanks

 

The water noise soon after start up is normal, apparently. I hope so, because mine does it.

It shouldn't use water though, although the header tank should only be on the minimum when cold.

Sorry, you've lost me.

AFAIK there is the radiator and an overflow coolant tank next to it which is on minimum when cold (looks almost empty), but goes up when hot. If you try to fill it up when cold, it will overflow when hot and regain the correct level (I think).

 

ok cheers when i looked it was almost empty so i filled it up thinking thats why i was getting the sound of water going through the matrix on start up
