Default Grinding noise when on full lock

Hi guys, ive got a MY99 JDM Impreza and its developed a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the front when on full lock left and right, it still does it, though not so bad, when going around roundabouts at speed. I've checked bearings, wheel balance, wheel alignment and all associated bushes and none appear to have any major faults , has anyone had any similar problems? If so how did you sort it? Cheers

I had that in a MY2000 and shortly afterwards all power assistance ceased (when near Usk funnily enough). Power steering pump went.

so was it the power steering assembly that was making the noise or was it the effects of the "noise" that eventually broke the power steering assembly? Thanks for the reply but im still confused as to what it is lol!!

Could it be the front diff?
Mine does it aswell and i put it dow to the diff was trying to turn 1 side faster than the other.
Simple reason is if you get in a 4x4 it does the same when in 4 wheel drive on full lock

I maybe wrong as i dont know much

Noise came from boogered pump / bearings i think. initially silent/smooth at straight ahead and gravelly feel near full lock, that pretty rapidly progressed to loss of all assistance after which you need to have been on a weight lifting course to be able to use the wheel sensibly.
