Question

Does anyone know of a source of detachable (swan neck?) towbars for a MY02 STi?

I don't actually want to tow anything, just fix a tow ball mounted bike rack, and not have much (or anything) showing when it's not in place.

Any info on experiences with bike racks (particularly towball mounted ones) would also be appreciated.

Thanks
Scott

http://www.thule.co.uk/

also

Find the one you want and then go to Halfords, as they can order any Thule stuff. They will also match prices to any of the online mail order sites. That way, if it doesn't fit you can easily get your money back.

Cheers

I have found a brilliant bike rack that attaches to the tow ball. I went to my local bike shop and they recommended it. It only cost about £22. It doesnt look much but I have had 2 mountain bikes on it and it seems fine, the only other thing you need to buy is some bunge straps to hold the bikes on.
One big advantage of this type of rack is it only takes about a minute to fit on the car. Sorry but I have thrown the packaging away so I dont know who makes it. Try phoning some local bikes shops or camping shops and they may point you in the right direction.

I have a Brink removeable bar on my MY00 and the quality is excellent & its fairly unobtrusive. Only problem is most bikes racks need more than just the ball to attach - so can't be used on a swan-neck like Brink as there's nothing to brace it to.
Find your bike rack before you get your towbar (and if you do find one that fits, please mail me!)
