Default Newbie - Looking to buy cash waiting due to timewaster!!

Hi Guys,

Newbie here I had a real pants day today after the purchase of an 02 WRX fell through due to the seller being a fool (not from this site i might add) It was meant to be a present to the mrs (with no performance car experience), as she always wanted one, so as you can guess im in the dog house (again!).

Seeing as this sale has fallen through i thought i would have another look on here and i have found what i think to be a corker (DLP's car) which i am just waiting for him to get back to me (any views on this would be great)

Now i know im going to get flamed for this (especially after Clarksons comments last night) but i come from an Evo background so these kind of cars are not new to me. I figured if i have both i may just get away with it and at least offer an impartial view

Just thought i would introduce myself as i will be getting one of these cars very shortly (if only for some peace!) and hope to be able to join you at a few meets and enjoy the banter.

Regards

Wayne

No, just you!

Welcome to sn, make yourself comfortable.

Try the for sale section here and perhaps piston-heads as well.

Welcome to the forum bud. I to was a evo 6 owner which was a great car and I miss it but they are a bit old now and wanted a newer car, the evo 8 and 9 were silly money so I bought a 05 STI and never looked back.

Good luck on sorting out a new scooby.

I have always been a big fan of the EVO, they have always got the shape and design spot on, i never really liked the sound compared to a scoob, but the figures and write up's speak for themselves

The EVO is a great car and I would of bought a newer one if they were a bit cheaper but they cost more to run than the scooby and like you said the scooby sounds the nuts

Cheers mate. Im lucky as my V is only used for weekends and track days and its a minter (60k on the clock). Couldnt use it as an every day car as the NUR Spec does my head in but she does trott on and whoops my old mans 911!

Looking forward to owning both, although technically this is going to be the Mrs car

Thanks for all the other replies as well guys, will post pics up of both when i get the chance

NICE!! I loved the yellow 5's. I nearly bought a yellow evo 5 about 7 years ago from a Jap auction in Southampton but was beated by some fella and it sold for just £100 over my budget but I would of had to SVA it and at the time you could not get a model report for it so in a way I was lucky!!

Good news is its still only £190 tax, and it sails through MOT's with a 3 1/2" straight through decat pipe!

Aye welcome to the site.

I wouldnt be worried about coming to a Subaru forum from a Mitsubishi background.

I'm led to believe the evo boys take themselves more seriously than us lot and even though I have heard that the evo boys slate us quite badly whenever there is something negative posted on here about them I always get the impression that its meant rather light heartedly.

At the end of the day we all love cars and that should unite us as oppsed to divide.

Thanks guys, and yes although an EVO owner i do appreciate all cars for what they are.

Well I got up early to make the trip from brighton to birmingham with the mrs to check out a car from here. I was led to belive it was a minter, and oh my god the guy wasnt lying! Bearing in mind im getting this for the mrs i think i'm owed big time!

The trip home was fruitful as i didnt want her to drive it back having only had small cars in the past, and after a couple of crashes on the M25 held us up and a quick trip to my mates to give the car a quick snow foam and take wheels off to clean we are now home.

As some of you have requested i have put up a couple of both the cars (no taking the pi55 about his and hers as the family have already done that to death!) Hope you enjoy and will no doubt catch up with some of you at some shows what ever i'm in!

apologies for poor pics, taken on phone! And mine now has black dung flaps as well!

They are just vents that clip over the window and slot in the top of the door. Ive gone for the all out rally look on mine, but the scoob will stay subtle (so she thinks)

both stunning cars, dont know if you are on the mlr but it isnt as clicky over here, scoobs might not be as good but the owners are friendlier

I see

You picked a nice scoob as a blank canvas for some mods.

Cosmetically it is IMO the scoob with the most potential for mods.

Looks nice already though.

My first scoob was a bug eye.
