Cool

Ozzy,

I've got the cert and guide book with my RB5WR, if you need any further help mail me off line. As mentioned by Matt the book explains how to use the keypad in the glove box to change some of the default settings.

Question

Hi,

I've been asked by my insurance company for a declaration as to which type of alarm/immobiliser is fitted to my RB5.

Does anyone with an RB5 know which make/model is fitted and did they receive a certificate with their car?

Cheers,
Stefan

Should be the Standard Scoob alarm which is a Sigma M30 (unless it's been replaced).

If so, you should have a Subaru key fob with a blue sticker and the Subaru logo in yellow. The fob should have one button.

You should also have (I think) a small keypad in the glove box. This can be used to program the alarm from the default settings (and you should have a small manual which tells you how to use it).

Matt.

Should be Sigma M30. Certificate came with car for alarm. Check your E-mail for blank copy of mine. Do with it what you will.

Thumbs up

Thanks for your help guys.

Greg, your e-mail stirred some old memories. I had a rumage through all my documentation and hey presto there was my certificate.

Also found the blue guidebook in my car. Isn't it amazing what you never bother to look at

Thanks again,
Stefan

Jason, a reasonable point, however:

It doesn't take a genius to know what _most_ scoobs have installed as standard. Its also (for a change) a pretty good alarm and not the easiest to bypass, even if you know exactly how/where its fitted.

Wink

Jason,

Don't be so paranoid. It would have taken me 5 mins to get the same answers from any Scooby dealer.

Anyway most car thieves are professionals and know exactly what security systems are fitted to cars and more importantly how to get round them.

Given that the majority of posts on this bbs are to do with what mods are installed, I think this would pose a much greater risk of attracting thieves.

Don't worry I'm in no rush to change my career to car thief.

Safe and happy motoring,
Stefan
