Went out for a drive yest and was blown away by a CORSA of all cars, After he thrashed me a inch away from life we pulled up in a pub car park where he explained he had a 2lt red top turbo under the bonnet pushing 300bhp++++
I was amazed by how quick it was.......

Ahhhh.... the old C20LET engine out of a Cav/Cally turbo
300bhp is very easy to achieve, equivalent torque figures as well. Huge amounts of understeer and no control of course, but like a bullet in a straight line

Not really a revelation.
Both cars are rolling so the 4WD becomes a liability in a straight line. The scoob is going to weigh far more than the Corsa so the corsa probably has a considerable power to weight advantage.

was that aimed at me Edd?
If so I disagree... the Corsa will be spinning up it's wheels on every corner trying to get all those 300 horses down in the wet... you don't need to be doing a standing quarter to use 4x4 advantage...

Had a little play with one of these a year or so ago when mine was about 300bhp and before it weng bang
It was up my rear end on every straight, but lagged on corners.
We stopped alongside each other at a roundabout on a dual carriageway after and paid mutual respect.
He wouldn't see me for dust now

a corsa with 300bhp and lightweight will most likely have more power/weight anyway, good luck to the fella, nowt hurting.
yeh and a corsa with cav turbo 4x4 running gear and 300bhp would tear most scoobs a new ringpiece its all about power to weight ratio but traction does play a massive part . if you cant put the power to the ground you aint going nowhere in a hurry . demonstrated very well by chavs lighting up the front wheels at the lights when the spot a scoob or evo . i dont bother with them anymore just pull away as normal lol does thier heads in

The transfer boxes were really weak on the Cavalier/Calibras, so 300bhp would probably kill it.
mark dennis down our way has done it with a nova . 2ltr let turbo 4x4 from a cav with 6speed group n box to say it shifts is a understatment . bearing in mind it weighs sod all its to be expected. matrix on here knows him and also ran a cav turbo 4x4 6speed with well over 300bhp which was bought by a lad in the army who spent a fortune on it and 1/4miled it against cossies etc
