Default Litchfield/Powerstation Type 20 engine pack

Afternoon all, does anyone know why this upgrade only takes a JDM STi (MY05 Blob) to 340bhp? I thought they were 320bhp standard, so surely filter + exhaust + remap should easily make more than that? Or am I missing the point ....

These cars are quoted at 280ps, not 320bhp, they may acutally push a little more (normally over 300bhp) but unless remapped or some other modification has been done, then it wont be pushing 320bhp.
As for why just 340bhp, uk fuel remap on 97 ron could be a reason, though I always thought these ran 350bhp on the type 20 upgrade, but anyway, just have a custom remap, should push more (350-360bhp)
Do you also get the full tuning pack with the type 20 upgrade (miltek exhaust etc?)

Tony

Remember Iain offered a warranty with his performance packs too....so he'll not push the envelope as much as some independent mappers would.

Ahh ok, yeah it has a K&N panel filter and the miltek exhaust. Plus the T20 handling pack and I must say the AST coilovers completely converted me ....

Why not ask Powerstation or Ian Lichfield direct and get it from the horse's mouth as it were rather than second and third hand opinions from pundits on here. No offence intended.

None taken mate, I'm sure he's busy enough without me pestering him

I sent him a PM on here to read/reply at his leisure, just thought there maybe someone on here that knew, that's what these forums are here for right? It was mainly clearing up the fact I thought JDM STi's were 320 standard that helped ....

JDM sti twinscroll with miltek sports cat exhaust and filter change will be 340. My 2003 Spec C made 340 with the same when mapped by powerstation. the car was then given to Bob Rawle, added a 3 port solenoid and made 353. But the turbo on the Spec C is a vf36, yours is a vf37 which may or may not reach the same power. Bob Rawle Believes that with a FMIC and a turbo actuator that cracks the wastegate at 1 bar , then a little more can be squeezed out of the turbo.

Andrew

by the way, my Spec C is mapped on 97 ron fuel
