Claudius,
I normally ignore this type of thing too, although it happens far too often. If I had been alone prob would have called him a few choice words ect then carried on where I was going. But, Yvonne wasnt pleased so had to keep her happy, did'nt I .
As it happens It was a good job I did go get him, cos its gonna cost his insurance company some dough too, checked the car over this morning and gonna need a new front splitter and wheel arch **** guard.

Hoppy,
yes I know things can get out of hand and nasty, but my view is ,if nothing is done to stop these TW*Ts they go along blindly untill they kill somebody, and then somebody else thinks "thats the prat" that did such and such to me yesterday, and if I had done such and such that person may be still alive.

Besides I am a street wise sort of person and can look after myself, with help from B.B.Bat of course only joking. but there again

this is a little story that happened today (Sunday)

Me and Er indoors ) decided to go out for a nice little drive in the country lanes this afternoon.2 miles from home we were proceeding at a safe and legal speed (honestly officer)down this long straight road towards a blind righthander, As we were perhaps 100 mtrs from the apex I saw a tractor towing a horsebox thingy cumming round the corner towards me.
(1st piece of luck) i also saw a flash of bodywork between it and a car following it, GUESS WHAT ???? it was a TW*T in a saxo trying to overtake 6 cars, 2 tractors towing horse box's and an artic, all before a blind corner.
Luckily I saw the flash from his bodywork and stood on the anchors,to be presented with this saxo heading for a hard meeting with my NEW intercooler.
(2nd piece of luck) there was an entrance to a farm on my left so went for it and did a bit of grasstracking along the verge. We passed said TW*T in the gateway and guess what ?? he was talking on his mobile phone ....... a total stupid FU*KING TW*T.........

As you can imagine err indoors was not a very happy girlie at this stage ( (not so clean knickers and all that sort of thing).
Any way I figured somebody was gonna get a piece of my mind so set off to try and catch the TW*T who by now was nowhere to be seen, but there was only one way he could travel, so lights ablaze all horses in stampede mode off we went, the cars, artic ect were all still behind the tractor but must have seen my lights cos they all signalled for me to go by safely. Got to the village where we live and had a little discussion as to whether the saxo had turned left or right , decided he must have gone right cos left was to nowhere. By now a Golf GTi with a black tie driver was up my ****, mmmm I thought where did he come from ?? Any way 30 mph through the village 40mph in the 40 zone then stampede along the national zone limit with the Golf a long way behind, BUT the Saxo was 3 cars ahead and stuck in roadwork traffic lights behind maybe 6 other cars.
Lights to green through roadworks and a clear road for passing purposes, Gave the TW*T in Saxo a good looking over as we passed for ID purposes no doubts got the right one. Pulled in 4 cars ahead of him. It was pretty obvious he knew I wanted to have a word in his ear, and also very obvoius he was not gonna stop if I asked nicely so I allowed the other 4 cars to pass me leaving him directly behind me, And here is where I appologise to anybody who may have been around at the time and got slightly delayed .....SORRY.
As we approached a roundabout I figured that the best way of getting a word with him was to stop him getting onto the roundabout ,so on the r/bout entrance I stopped leaving him nowhere to go, he could not reverse cos of vehicle behind him )))
3 seconds it took me to tell him what I thought of his driving, it took 10 seconds for Yvon to give him her views, and (3rd piece of luck) a further 10 seconds for the black tie in the Golf to arrive, another 10 seconds to tell me he was a Police inspector and had been one of the cars in the pack behind the tractor and thingy and had seen it all happen ))))))))))))))))))))
And then another 30 seconds to explain (nicely) to me to let him handle TW*T in saxo who must have been thinking "why did I get out of bed today ".
Aparrently TW*T in saxo denied he was on phone , denied he had almost caused an multiple vehicle accident, denied he even had a mobile phone, but, and this is the funnyiest thing i have heard for a long time ............ his phone rang , he was sitting on it.....................

To cut a LONG story short Police are now doing a network check on his phone for usage times and he is being reported for DANGEROUS DRIVING. IF he gets a 5 year ban i wont be sorry.

So the morals of this story are ................................. you never know who is in that car you just passed .......... and, ONCE IN A BLUE MOON, Does occasionally happen ))

Well done and what a piece of luck. People get away with far too many things on the road. Glad he was caught.

I had something similar the other week but not quite the adventure you had.

Someone who was visiting someone in our street, brand new Mercedes, more or less had just picked it up, got into the car just as I had gone past the driveway. Within a couple of minutes, this blue mercedes was inches away from me from my bumper. I had my baby and young daughter in the back. Anyway they proceeded to drive so close behind me down a hill for about a mile in a 30mph. When I came to the junction, I turned right, they got delayed by another car, so by the time they pulled out, I was around 100 yards ahead. However once again, before I knew it, they were right behind. This was still in a 30mph, so they must have floored it to get right behind me so quick.

This got me really angry, if I was forced to break suddenly, they would go right up the rear of my car. They could see I had car seats in the back. Anyway I slowed right down to a crawl, another car was behind them and then when I felt it was safe to do so, I slowed to a standstill, trapping their car between our car and the one behind.

Then to the surprise of my wife, I then got out, calmly walked to the driver side of the mercedes, it was a woman driver with I think her husband in the passenger seat. I tapped on the window, but she didn't wind down the window at all. Her husband just looked in the other direction. I then just spoke in a loud voice so she could hear me through the glass, that I thought her driving was a disgrace. Maybe she would like to re-sit her test before she buys a new car. I told her about my two youngsters in the back and what the consequences would be if I was to break suddenly. I told her she obviously had the money to buy an expensive car but unfortunately not the brains to drive it.

She didn't say a word, her husband didn't dare say a word, they knew what they were doing was wrong and I got a sorry uttered by them just before I walked back to my car. I then drove off and the amount of distance she left when she drove behind me was over 100 yards!!!

Sometimes people need re-educating, sometime shock tactics work, BUT hopefully the lad you are on about and the woman I talked to, won't be doing these stupid things ever again. We can hope!

Exclamation

What I am about to say I do not condone in any way, shape, mean or form, But there has been 1 occasion where I really snapped at someone's appaling driving.
I had borrowed my mum's audi for the day and was coming off the A331, under the M3, when a little 17yo or-so pecker came hooning up behind me in his little 1.3 Escort. He sat off my rear bumper at no more than 6 inches. Swear to god and this was at about 40. I go around the round about onto the dual carriageway down to Tesco's and Marks' on the A30.
There is slowish traffic in the left lane now and I am doing 70 now in the right and he manages to come up behind me again. Guess what? 6 inches if that again. I fog light him to see if he gets the picture. No difference. My blood is boiling now, but I get out of the way to let him through. His next target is a lady that is in front of me. He does exactly the same thing. She doesn't get out of the way. He even flashes her. We come to a stop by the A30. I calmly got out of the car, walked up to his open window and punched him once in the head. Knocked his cap straight off. No words mentioned, no ranting. That was all that it took. The lights went green, the cars behind me smiled and we all pulled around him and carried along on our merry way.
Like I said this is not condoned on here and should never be necessary, but I couldn't take it anymore....

Cheers,

Nick

Unhappy

Was driving into Leeds today to get a replacement sidelight bulb from Halfords. Get to the big roundabout on the Leeds end of the A64 and a white scoob goes past. It's going the same way as me so I follow it along the ring road in good spirits. This guy is a bit excitable coz he does a quick undertake manouevre (sp?) to get infront of a couple of cars. Round the next roundabout and on towards the Halfords roundabout. Lights are red at the end, but the guy in the scoob noses between the 2 cars at the front of the lights and then proceeds to go THROUGH 2 sets of red causing a load of cars to brake hard! Was a bit shocked to say the least. Not a great example of how to drive

Whoever was driving that car, if you are out there, your heading for a serious accident if you keep on like that!

Sorry, I mean to the full extent of the law, so unfortunetly god knows what the outcome will be....
Worst case scenario for him probably. Drives to court, gets banned for a few months, drives himself home and continues to drive because he couldn't care less.....

Cheers,

Nick

If I turned around every time this type of stuff happens to me, I wouldnt be getting anywhere! I dont even bother looking at them anymore, just look where I can pass without damaging the car and keep going my direction. I have to admit that this is due to the speeds I usually drive at as well...

Glad you are OK
i drove all over Kent and Sussex today. Had a porche behind me for a few minutes and the TW*T over took me and two other cars. By the time he was pulling infront of the last car he was on the wrong side of the road on a blind right hand bend. It was because he was behind me in my modified WRX that he wanted to prove he was in fast car - he just proved that he was a cr*p driver.

I cane my car down back roads in Sussex and Kent and this has risks, the faster you drive the less time you have to react. But I do not take uneccessary risks when overtaking. It just anoys me when I see people being reckless with other peoples lives.

Hope saxo tw*t gets a ban.
