Question

Off topic - apologies - flippin search function back but won't work....grumble mumble.....

Looking for help for a mate...needs a replacement exhaust for a MB 190 cosworth (2.5). MB standard system £500+ in mild steel....hmmmm

None of the usual suspects seem to make stainless performance systems for this model....best bet so far is "RMS Engineering" in Prestwick (Scotland) ~ will custom make a copy of existing sytem in 316 stainless.

Anyone any experience of these guys?

A reliable colleague tells me 316 is "Marine Grade" ~ apparently higher grade than the 304 / 306 that (from memory) Magnex / Janspeed etc quote ~ sound right?

Many thanks in advance....mik

Mik, one or two mates have had alterations done there, (mainly fixing poor quality fittings on other stainless systems) any news seems to be good, i have also seen/heard
a rather tasty system they made for a legacy so if it is cheaper than the original MB one tell him to go for it
Regards
Dave

Thumbs up

Mark ~ Thanks for the input - will try Hayward and Scott for comparison. (I knew I'd recently seen a topic regarding Scoobysport manufacturer but couldn't find it).

Dave ~ that's excellent news - Thanks!

Was really surprised that none of the normal aftermarket exhaust folks list the MB Cossie ~ it's not *that* rare, and there are plenty of tuning / styling companies that deal with MB.....maybe the standard system just lasts too long.....?

Cheers Again,
Mik
