i personally think they got the hatch....stretched it out on a jig..stuck a evo spoiler onit ??..

and does anyone else believe they built it as a saloon because of "flop" the new hatch has when it was launched?

 

People just dont like change, when the bug came out, no one liked it, everyone said it was slow and heavy, but look now, one of the most sort after cars, probably far more on the road (and it outsold the turbo by quite a margin but that could have had something to do with restricting sales )
Personally I like the hatch, im not an in ya face type of person so its good for me

Thats true mate...im not a too big a fan of the new gtr . . visually i dont...performance its immsense!!.

i actually am strting to like the new wrx sti. .after watching a few mre youpube vid's....its growing on me like a 5 o'clock shadow

 

Looks too much like an Evo X,not that that is a bad thing,but it would have been nice to be different.
I really like the hatch,now,and didn't rate it at all,when it first came out.
So,maybe it will be a grower!
Mind you,after looking at it,again,I like it!

The impreza saloon was actually released in the States at the same time as the hatch, so it was only a matter of time before they made an STi version.

Personally I have always been a big fan of the hatch, and like the saloon just as much.

 

As above, other markets got a saloon/sedan on launch.

If Subaru have taken until now to produce a saloon STI, I despair...

At least the thing looks better balanced than the hatch, even overhangs etc...
