My son passed his driving test in December at 17. Did his Pass Plus and has a 52 plate Vauxhall Corsa.

He went out last night with some friends around Halesowen. Came back to his car and some muppet has scratched all down the drivers door.

FFS, its a Corsa........

Why do people scratch cars? I just can't think why people would do this.

Becasue they're little ******* who haven't been brought up properly. If their parents weren't oxygen stealers then they might stand a chance.......

Simply because they can. There is no respect any more with a large percentage of the population and if they get caught no punishment either.

I know it is just a Corsa, but I bet your son is proud of it and that is a sad thing to happen. If it is just the door then getting it sprayed shouldn't be too expensive and probably worth it as I always think having a car with one panel scratched like that encourages the morons to do the others.

a few things to consider , jealousy , but most of the time location , halesowen is not the best of areas either , i have a freind whose car has been also done in that area .

Another thing is drunkeness , that doesn't help either . In way i have heard worse cases .

I agree its mostly jealousy.

I leave near Halesowen, its a shame you cant leave your car overnight, without worrying about vandalism

There is a car in my street with massive key marks in it. It pisses me off that people would want to damage any car they see just cause they can.

Some kids did it to my dad's Nissan Sunny a few years back. He lives in a nice quiet estate, no reason for people to just pass through, yet he woke up one morning and someone had keyed both sides of his car

Lack of respect, boredom, jealousy, could be one of a number of reasons, but if I caught a ****** doing it to my car I'd ring their scrawny neck

Maybe your son was driving like a madman with his mates, annoyed another driver who subsequently sees the car parked up and then vandalises the car - could be as simple as that!! Been there myself

Tell me about it

We where visiting my nan in hospital a few months back and mine was keyed right down the whole left side from the wing to the quarter one way to whack a good few hundred quid off the value of my car on one fell swoop!
