Default Ver 5 Sti ECU options?

Hai,

What are my options? Can it be re-flashed? Are Power FC's still made or do I have to buy a 2nd hand one? Do the ver 5 and 6 use the same Power FC?

www.ecutek.com

www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk has most of the popular options (personally wouldn't bother with the Power Fc)

You can buy my P1 remapped ECU (same engine and ECU as the STI V and VI) - which has been remapped by Bob Rawle via the ECUTeck software - so it has the licence fee already paid - meaning you can get a remap at a much reduced rate (something like £280 I think...?), as the licence is the expensive bit... I was running 335bhp ish with it on my car with standard internals and just breathing mods (decat and induction kit), forge recirc. DV (as standard piston is weak and leaks when you turn the boost up) plus three port boost solenoid, and octane booster...

Simteck/Gems/Motec probably not worth it (IMO) unless you go beyond standard internals or standard turbo/intercooler set up...

Just had my V5 STI remapped by Bob Rawle. He put a Ecutec on my standard ECU and gave me 311bhp.

Nothing wrong with the standard pistons, its the rods that are naff, and to the op, just get yours remapped and you will be sorted

Didn't mean the pistons in the cylinders - meant the spring strength on the piston inside the OE Dump Valve!! When you raise the boost that's why you're best off swapping the OE DV for an uprated item with a stronger spring.
