On Scoobynet At Work ?
#1
I cant believe how many people go on the scoobynet all day,It seems like the scoobynet is very addictive (I know)but the question is are we supposed to be on it at work, Or are we all very naughty people.
So we come to the conclusion.
Which one are we.
(1)The addicted one who risks going on it.
(2)The addicted one who is not bothered if the gaffer knows.
(3)Doesn`t matter I pay the bill.

...but I try to maintain an element of Scoobynet "stealth" - don't want to set a bad example to my staff...

Guess I'm a number 2. Got to do something to pass the time. Daft thing is, as soon as I get home I'm on it again. Ok maybe I'm a 1 really but in denial.

5) It's my own company, so no-one to bollock me now
Except the missus, when she asks what work I have done all day - "erm, erm, got some new contacts from Scoobynet"

my spin on this is that I waste less company time browsing the internet than some people do standing outside smoking - plus I am not actually killing anyone by doing so.
Enlightened companies (including mine)are relaxing their internet usage 'code of conduct' rules to allow limited personal use - I think this is a mature attitude to have.

We all have broadband access at work for 'research' purposes, so I can dip in and out at will.
Free cable internet access at home so I can have it around in the evening too
24/7 me!!

Oddly, the internal IS VLAN is the only one without the shaping/throttling and monitoring software enabled. Funny that .
1. I _have_ to keep an eye on our external access as it could impact on client machines. I did manage to catch some of our routing between Kingston and Docklands going via Amsterdam the other day as well, so I can *prove* I need to surf during the day.
2. They don't pay me enough. Daytrading is the only way to keep my trophy wife from leaving me, thus inflicting emotional stress and an unspecified amount of time off sick

Most addictive Is there anywhere we can go to get help?!
I think it has to be "2" for me - it's just a desparate cry for help as my job is so boring
Actually, I was on a GIS course today (only interesting day I've had in 8 months at Hampshire CC!) in Aylesbury - 200 miles for Scoob! All I could think about was whether I'd get caught if I had a look on Scoobynet...I didn't
