Where is all the power?

Where is all the power?
Hi there, another noob question from a new WRX 300 PPP owner.
Accelerating from a standstill is fine, but where is the best powerband on a 265bhp PPP? I'm still learning how to drive the car and I'm interested in knowing which gear to change to acceleration under different circumstances (without blowing the engine!)
For example, the midrange scenario: 40-50mph, need to overtake quickly. Should I be in 3rd?
Example: 30mph but wanting to accelerate. Should I change to 2nd?

http://www.prodrive.com/up/03MY%20WRX%20PPP.pdf This will help. Look at the power graph on the first page.
2nd gear goes to about 65mph if not a little bit more, so you could use it for either of your situations, depends how hard you want to accelerate I suppose. Could even use 4th for 40-50, as you'll be near peak torque.
