I think you would be very unlucky to get tested/nicked by plod. Mainly just the mot that can be a problem.

I don't think an MOT can be passed without CATs.

Also, it's illegal to remove them, if fitted when manufactured.

You are also stealing the future from your offspring ... keep them on and drive sensibly

I don't think a car running correctly with no cats is going to be that bad, there are a lot more things to worry about regarding pollution.

going to crail is a good one to watch for as most times wen we go police are there and vosa and any car with a even slightly loud exhaust they pull over and stick the probe thing in the exhaust seen it plenty of times my mate got pulled there with his jap honda prelude with a straight through exhaust was quite loud but he also had to jump in my car to get home as vosa pounded it for the exhaust emmissions being off the scale so the police said that was only last year

its vosa the road side checks that you need to be concerned about .
regards insurance a car has to have a valid mot on the road and a decat would mean an mot failure .
you with the rsowners club paul if you are boncaster do insurance which includes decats as most insurances wont cover decats

would removing it effect the running of the engine because the back pressure in the exhaust will be less?
