HELP Please, sunroof half open and stopped working!!!
posted this in general tech but no response yet, need help a.s.a.p as it could rain soon
Any ideas anyone? My99 uk turbo
Just pulled up at home.going through shutdown procedure,- press sunroof close button (starts closing) turn the heater fans off and the sunroof just stopped halfway through closing and now will not work!
the fusebox behind the drivers cubby hole has no mention of a sunroof fuse but ive checked everyone of them and there fine!
Any ideas? or even how to close it manually?

Absolutely correct, there is a small plug you remove and then insert the hex key from the tool kit into the motor drive. You can then manually wind the sunroof closed.
If you don't have the hex key then an 8 or 10 mm Allen key will probably do the same job.

That would seem to be the way to do it, but i cant find the bloody access for the screw im meant to turn,
in my manuel it says its under the interior light. but its not! (The pic shows the int light in the front cabin by the rear view mirror, whereas mines in the middle of car) and is different size and shape than the one in pic??

On my earlier post I just quoted from the manual.
However you are correct as after looking at the sunroof on my MY99 turbo I can see no plug to remove. Only the switch is at the front as the interior light is in the middle.
I would try removing the switch which may give access to the motor. Any other car I've had with an electric sunroof has always had the motor located at the front behind the mirror.
Best of luck.

removed the switch and still no sign of an adjusting bolt or motor
also read somewhere that it could be in the boot- but cant find it there either.
Cheers for the help people... keep it coming

The sunroof slides by being pulled on one side or the other by a wire cable loop which also engages with the motor spindle.
The motor will be under the headlining beside the sunroof and definately not in the boot.
