Bubbling lacquer on rear spoiler?
Just noticed the lacquer quite badly bubbling and fading on the rear spoiler, I've had the car 3 1/2 years and the spoiler has never been resprayed in that time. This has only happened in the last few weeks since the weather got really cold.
Is this evidence of a previous repair or has anyone had a similar problem?

i have seen this loads as im in bodywork and in most cases its from work thats been done before but seen loads of ford rear spoilers go this way ! it can be caused from the elements but usually from a repair/paint job.could be damp in primer which can take a short or long time to come out.hth

My lip spoiler did this mate. Just had it and the bootlid resprayed again. That was down to a poorly prepped spray job the first time around. Took nearly two years to surface.
As to Subaru standard paint work... I had my front bumper resprayed under warranty when only a year old as the lacquer started peeling in places.
