Default Oil Leak

Hi Guys,

Bought an 07 WRX last week - all was going fine until I saw an oil patch on the driveway this afternoon.

The car was serviced just before I picked it up on Thursday. Checked the oil yesterday and all was fine but today it is well under the limit.

Any ideas what this could be?

Cheers.

Jon.

Just poked my head under the car and the most of the plastic tray under the car had a coating of oil on it. I cant see anything around the cams or anything on the top half of the engine.

Im not mechanically minded at all so excuse my ignorance.

Thanks in advance.

Take the undertray off and see where the oil is coming from .... could just have been the poor service most cars get when they have been sold - probably the 15 year old apprentice was let loose on it.

Just a quick follow up - Took her to the garage this morning and they got her on the ramps straight away.

There was a crimp in the washer on the bottom of the sump and was leaking slowly.

Changed the washer and it seems on - will keep an eye just to make sure.

Cheers for the reply guys.

The guy who changed the oil really didn't bother to do the job at all well, with any thought or care. Simple process and easy to check it is done right, crimp in the sump washer - pathetic. I would find another garage to do service work in future, a reccommendation from someone on here perhaps...

Does anyone have any recommendations of Garages in the Cardiff/Newport area that might be worth trying next time?

Any one else had any experience with CVC at all?
