What is done/checked at 30k service
#1
Trying to decide whether to bother with a professional inspection on a MY00 I am buying. Car has new tyres, brakes all round, and had the 30ker done two and a half weeks ago. I have recently been stitched up by the countrys leading inspection company and don't want to waste more cash, on the other hand I need a guide book (and dog) to find the engine. Would be interested to know what Subaru did at service, to see if it sways me one way or the other.
Thanks

Heyup matey,
I dont know what is involved in the subaru 30K service, but if you look at grahamgoode's site that gives you full details of what is checked, changed, parts required and time it takes for all the service intervals. It seems like a good reference to me of what you should be getting evrytime your car is due for a service. I hope this helps.

Adam,
You can also try the SIDC FAQ which has the service schedule and lots of other useful info for buying a Scoob.
Of course, you could always go for possibly the lowest milage MY00 in the country which is too young/low milage to have anything wrong with it... (and is miles away from any of the "big" services (price always negotiable )

Can't really tell you what parts are checked in a service but if you want to get your future Scoob checked, try Power Engineering. I got my first Scoob about a month ago and met the seller at power engineering, they give the car a full check and if you want to pay the extra they will also put it on the rollers! In total it cost me about £75 for the check & the rolling road.
I done this rather than pay over £200 for a AA/RAC check, plus it's nice to have it on the rollers.
P.S. Try their web site, it also lists what is checked at the different service intervals.

Melon - very useful thanks.
Matt - stop winking at me I'm married!
stiscooby - would be the perfect solution, unfortunately the seller lives up north (Nr Middlesborough). Phoned a couple of maindealers to sound them out (I'm young and niave, but learning...), which was a waste of time. Does anyone know of a service similiar to PEs but more local to the seller?
Thanks
