Default Confirming Prodrive Pack is Fitted

Hi Everyone,

1st post on here so go easy, i've never really been in to Subaru's having spent the last 4 years with various kit cars and lately a clio for track use.

I've recently purchased a 54 plate (2005 spec, could they all be?) with a certificate for the Prodrive pack.

The certificate checks out ok with the chassis number, and i was aware that the exhaust has been changed.

How can i confirm that the ecu is still the right one? Just had a quick a look and was expecting to see something like a prodrive emblem or something, but all that's there is some black marker pen saying sti 05 and then a code.

In fact while we are on the subject the exhaust system
Am i right in thinking the centre section should just be a straight through pipe? i'm sure when i was under the car i saw a small rectangular box (possible a cat) now i can understand someone changing the rear silencer, buy i can't get my head round why someone would put a cat back in

Any pointers you can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

They(i believe)don't replace the ecu on that year they just remap the factory one.The center pipe is a straight through pipe, the only thing i think that rectangular box is a resonator box(based on my car)

With the exhaust, the downpipe will have a heat wrap on it, the centre cat is a straight through pipe but has a heat shield on it and there is a resonator in the pipe before the backbox (looks like a cat)

Not sure what they do with the ECU though!! HTH

This is correct, and the box in the centre is a resonator box (silencer) and is on all cars. Other than plugging it in or ringing subaru with the vin No you'll have to trust the cert.

i have a prodrive sti it has the sports cat downpipe, second de-cat delete (when fitted they refit the original heat shield to the second de-cat) prodrive back box and most importantly the ecu with the foil prodrive sticker i cant see why it wouldn't have this sticker unless it wasn't genuine.

but why has mine got the foil sticker and the majority of the ecus i see for sale don't have any more than black marker pen on them?

If i wasn't aware of your sarcasm in that reply, i'd be asking for a prize now for being 1st (or 2nd)

Thanks to everyone else, that clears that up.

I've since re fitted the prodrive silencer, but i'll hold on to the other one for when i want ot be more anti social

From what i've read just lazy fitters, there should also be a sticker on the drivers door sill and a lot don't have these either. I didn't have even a cert with mine, it wasn't till JGM mapped it that i knew for definate it was a PPP.

Sounds to me like you have the PPP, i have had a couple of PPP ECU's and they have 05STI then IP 4567 or something, the stickers i presume are given to the garage and some put them on the ECU others put them on the doors or in the engine bay etc. You should also have a Prodrive Intercooler pipe under the bonnet.

By this logic you may as well close half the sub-forums, it had already been answered but as we can see on lots of other threads you like to be sarcastic and funny so had the urge to post a response that predictably gets posted as much as the question. The search function is not as easy to use as it once was and sometimes brings up lots of info to search through, so by posting a question your more likely to get an answer from the helpful members of snet

Well that its not that easy to search for information (as you've proved) and that you have no idea what your trying to make a point about. My point about you is that you try to be funny and sarcastic but your not very good at either.

That funny, i just typed PPP into search and a rake of information has just appeared on the screen. I'd check my computer if i were you you may have a fault.
Incidentaly, do you have PPP?

I never said i coudn't bring up the info on PPP Read again and you will clearly see i said you'll have to more than likely look through lots of info to find what you want.

As for if i have PPP why don't you use the scoobynet functions you feel so passionate about

If it was that easy to do why not post the correct link up in the first place

I'll tell you why, because you keep trying to make yourself look clever but all you do is make yourself look rather daft

Are you still trying to make a point? what difference does it make if i have PPP or not?
