anyone here got "sloppy" gear linkage ?
a good friend of mine got hes clutch done,,,, now when hes got it back the gear linkage is all sloppy as ****, ive checked it ( great way to spend new years eve in my going out clothes under a car trying to remove gear linkage !) and theres LOADS of play in the U/J's where the bolts go though,,,, anyone else have this issue or know of a way to solve it apart from a new linkage obv

yeah,,,,thats problem tbh,,, when you select a gear the **** returns to the centre
this is for a V4 sti btw, its deffo the UJ for the linkage thats attached to the gearbox thats got play in it

in blue is where its twisting and causing the issue, in red is the part i think i need,, recon there worn or just damaged when they took the box out

On the contrary, I had my new clutch fitted recently and if anything my shift action has got much stiffer. To be fair, this has coincided with me not using the Impreza as often recently, and the cold weather has been fairly extreme.

update:
big thanks to Paulo P for getting up so early on a sunday morning to give me the part,,, one of the bushes wasnt put back in the linkage and that was the reason for the play,,, all sorted now AND i manged to do a mod with another bush that was worn to help the gearchange to be almost MINT !!!
took about 30 mins too this time as i knew what i was doing,,,, that pic also helped to show how it all comes apart too !!!
