Can anyone help.

I am about to order a new MY01 UK spec from either Holland or Belgium.

I have decided that I want the bucket seats, which I understand are not a UK option.

I have read a previous posted message on the board, and someone said that their new imported MY01 had buckets but no rear spoiler.

On further analysis, it does not appear the the rear spoiler is standard in other countries.

Anyway, my point is, I want a UK speck car with BUCKET seats. I also want a spoiler.

My big fear is, that I get a car with Bucket seats and no rear spoiler. This will mean that it is not truly UK spec ?

So what I want to do is specify the option number for the buckets to the import agencie. This will hopefully clarify matters.

Any thoughts ??

Good name m8.

You are right: the rear spoiler is not standard in Europe. Neither is Air Con. However this only applies to left hand drive cars, and not right hand drive.

I ordered my RHD MY2001 from Holland in May last year (my second Dutch Scooby) and collected the car 4 weeks ago. The first batch of RHD cars to Holland were delivered with sports bucket seats and no spoiler. The side airbag seats were unavailable at the time, however it is now possible to order a car with a spoiler as standard, and a choice of either seat (the side airbag is now a cost option). Now the only difference between UK and Dutch spec RHD cars is the warranty (1 year) and the locking wheelnuts (around 30 quid) Oh, and several thousand pounds of course.

Typically, the price has also fallen since I bought mine, mainly due to very poor sales in Holland.

Hope this helps, but feel free to mail me anytime for info or advice.

I think the bucket seats will be an option on UK cars from May, so by the time your car arrives in 6 months your car will be the same as UK spec and the dutch dealer can fit the UK spoiler as an option fairly cheaply.

I've ordered my WRX from virgin cars, and it will be to full UK spec and you have the choice of either sports seats or bucket seats. Although I see they now charge a £250 premium to have the bucket seats, which they didn't do when I ordered mine.

Hope this helps.

Cheers guys,

Anyone know what the adjustments are like on the Buckets ?

I am a bit undecided about the rear spoiler.

I dont know if you've seen the customised one. It looks like an Evo 6 rear wing. I will probably change for one of these anyway.

Ive got the sports seats - like you say May is the earliest you can get the buckets. The buckets dont get the side impact bags. Im too big for the buckets anyway so i was ok. Sports seats are fine - not as supportive as buckets but then are you using the car for the track? If not your size may be a factor. The buckets stopped me breathing normally!
