The thieves are based in middlesex area west london, maybe possibly from slough iver aswell.

Cant believe they just towed it away....**** i am worried about my own car now, dont suppose it matters what security you have these days, if they want it bad enough they will take it....i am genuinely gutted for you as an RS Owners club member myself i will keep an eye out for you and my ears to the ground with any contacts i have....thieving scum like them dont deserve to walk the earth.
My Rs turbos were C765 ACL and C851 NEM which was the one on the used car roadshow and in performance ford as the buyers guide so i will keep my eyes peeled and my ears glued to the ground for you mate

lol on the ford forum they have managed to get some CCTV footage of it being taken from another user on the site and are starting to try and narrow it down to names and addresses top work, hope they catch the dirty ******* and give them what they deserve, has also been talk of it being gypo's.

 

yeah paid gypos doing a job for someone or paid professionals to come get the car. I can't see its for these same people. These are the workers that have been told to go get it basiclly

that cars prob been broken in to bits by now to get rid of the shell. a few years ago my gf had her first car broken into, and the dick left his wallet in the car between the seats. i snaped a baseball bat in half putting around his head . broken into car = night in cell, makes it all worth while lol.

most in the know say it would be parked up for the heat to go down, however this is one thing they wouldn't have anticipated the involvement of hundreds and hundreds of enthusiasts across all car forums

 

rscrew any chance you can get the original cctv video file hosted somewhere so it can be downloaded? - There's a few guys on here that may be able to help as they have the right software to pull the video apart and maybe get a frame or two that might give some more clues. It'll depend on the quality of the video really. Youtube is no good though cos it converts the video and trashes the quality along the way so it has to be a site that will allow people to download the original file.

Might also be worth posting on sxoc if you haven't done already cos there's a lot of guys on there from all walks

By the way, have you tried asking local posties and milkman if they saw anything? - given the time it happened, you may find there were a few of them already starting work at that point if they have busy/big rounds to get through. That and some newsagents etc get papers / deliveries at that time too

 

we have it on disc but are unsure on how to get it on to the net so there no loss of quality etc. anyone in middlesex heathrow area we can drive over to them this afternoon or evening and leave them a copy so they can host it on the net

 

probably the easiest way is to create an "iso" image of the disc and host that then let the guys work their magic from there. I'm just trying to find a suitable freeware program that'll do it cos i'm guessing you guys are running microsoft xp or vista.

Anyone on here got suggestions for the iso creater?

you need to use it to create an "iso" image of the disc. That will create an exact copy of the disc into a single file which is then downloadable. The file size will be dependent on how much data there is on the disc but by doing it that way, there's no conversion process for you guys to go through since anyone that downloads it can use that one file to produce an identical copy of the disc you have. At that point it can be worked with / converted into other formats to try and extract single images out of it and possibly enhance or clean them up. That stage depends entirely on how good the original footage is though which may not be great since it's dark and typically cctv cameras aren't great in terms of quality with low light situations. Still worth a crack though

Bought a HI-AB today, if you find out who did it you can ummm borrow it, And its not pikeys promise you, Truck is sign written and too old.

 

OK the footage was given to me at 25fps but cctv is recorded at much lower fps so its already been converted. Therefore, the footage will be speeded as I've encoded it at 25fps as I dont have the source files. Anyways:

good luck, with the threads going on at the mo, you have 100% more people working on it than the police and its still hard to find anything concrete,so you can imagine how hard the law finds it to find a nicked car/or at least the people who did it

i had a car nicked from work yrs back,was on cctv,reg plates their faces the lot,the law still couldnt do anything,was gutting to see it rex away with the theif inside,grr
