getting alot more for them in parts that whole!I had a nice v3 sti wagon tried to sell it whole got abosolulty no interest in it whole! So broke it and am about to fit the engine out of it into my type r as it had only done 12k since full rebuild also gained a nice HKS front mount out of it! And still got £2300 out breaking the rest of the car!

As Bob says no one is interested in buying cars at the moment.Everyone wants something for nothing on here which is why it works out better in the long run to break it.My MY98 Type R was the cheapest in the UK at 4.5k but still i was getting offers of 3k so i broke mine and i have made 5200 so far with still some bits to sell. Its just a case of having the time and the space to do it all

Yeah, sad reality is that some cars are worth more in parts than whole.
I'd also say to be fair that this relates to "older" cars - like the previous post for example.

shame to see it happen as some of them have been very clean looking cars, the last v3 i saw was up at 3500k but if it could be broke for near on 5k i am not supprised that more and more people are breaking them. i dont think it has gone to the v5 and v6 unless there was accident damage more the v1-v3 with the odd v4.

the thing is why spend between 3-4 k on a v3 when for a little more you can get a newer v5 which is the thing that i think is hitting the older imprezas. real shame imo

** Silver lining to every cloud**

Scoobs do get knocked for being "too common" the more we break the less there are giving us a little exclusiovaty back, not much I know.

Agree that it's a shame to destroy a decent motor though.
