Default Removing Window Tints

I have a Classic STi with factory tints on the windows in the back.

Does anyone know a way to remove the tints neatly? Would a gentle solvent work?

Thanks.

It's tinted glass, so you'd have to change the glass itself.

I don't think so as in a couple of tiny places it has come away on the inside - maybe they are aftermarket tints ater all, or have been added over the factory ones to make it darker. Anyone had any experience of this?

As above. I had tints fitted over the glass on my rear window and door windows. I had an emotional few hours .

Once they are off use meths to clean the glass. White spirit is too oily.

I am not sure about trying a heat gun as the tiny bits that have come off are very 'flaky' and come off in tiny pieces. I might have a very tentative go with some meths.

I used to fit window tints m8.
The only way to remove it is to warm it with a hairdryer and just pull it off.
On the rear window you have your window heater so take your time when pulling, you can if you go bull at a gate break the strips but this has never happend to me though. once removed the glue can be broke down with lighter fluid or meths and plenty of elbow work with (0000) gauge wire wool. (Dont worry you wont mark your glass or heater matrix). Once you have got the glue off clean with lighter fluid or meths on kitchen towel. Good luck m8 it is a bitch of a job
