Default over heating

HELP ive got a 96 import classic ive just developed an over heating prob.... ive just changed the thermostat thinking it was that on tick over it gets up to normal temp dose not over heat and showing normal on temp gague but as soon as you take it on a run and give it some boost the temp gague goes to the top ?????? also im not geting no heat in the car even when the temps hot .. ive took the pipes of and draind all the water still makes no diffrance HELP PLEASE ????????

sounds like you have a air lock mate

it can take some time before all air is out, let it idle for 10 minutes (with cap off), wait for the thermostat to open and look for bubbles, when it burps top up coolant after the thermostat has opened up, do this until no bubbles appear anymore

air lock or heater matrix is buggered

If your coolant levels are ok & you're not boiling over into the overflow, i'd be checking the coolant temp sensor
