Default Classic Phase Identification ?? help

hi, i have a classic jap import on a 96 plate with vin number gc8-c but the engine i have is a phase one i think? its the one with individual coils as appose to a coil pack so does any one know what phase ect this is as i am trying to buy parts from japan and they are confused, they asked me if it was reregistered before november 96 or after to de term its phase but as its a jap import it was reregistered in 2004 please help.

You need to go by the chassis number which will give you the model and year, then order your parts accordingly

but i fink some ones changed the engine ie the previous owner?

the v5 should have the date of first regisration on it as well as the date is was registered in the uk.
have a look at the label at the bottom of the seat belt. that will tell you the manufactured date ;-)
indiviual coil engines are phase 1 or phase 2. i,e pre face lift. chances are its a pre face lift. cant see why anyone would go to the trouble of fitting pre face lift set up into a facelift car. the ecus and much more are way different.

Look at the labels on the seatbelts. This will tell you if its pre Nov 96 or not. Or just post a pic of the engine bay and I'll tell you.

Just by saying individual coil packs (I assume on the plugs) its phase 1, GC8 - C means either MY 95 or MY96
