Default BC coilovers

i need to change my suspension due to the knocking. as mentioned in a previous thread, the Subaru garage offered me OEM parts for 500€ a corner plus fitting or 2 slightly used for 250€ including fitting.

a few people recommended BC coilovers, ScoobyWorld does them for £659 and it will be about 100£ p&p.
i can get them in Finland for 850€
however the website that is selling them states that all items on it's web shop (where the coilovers are) are for racing and not daily driving.
so
Q1. is it true, can these only be used for Racing?
Q2. i will need to tow a caravan a few times soon (i know, it is a forbidden sin for a WRx to tow a caravan) will it still be possible with BC coilovers fitted.

cheers.

gotta move fast on this as the wife has given the green light ( )to go 'uprated' but not sure for how long

They can be used for road use without a problem. many people her in th uk use them> just make sure you get the right spring rates for your usage.

Give apex performance a ring on 01274 683633 or Send Bren a PM

thanks, the dealer has just replied to my mail and also states that they are in fact fine for personal use, the racing claim was for other products on his web shop.
he also has offered to provide some stiffer springs for the back for the purpose of the caravan towing, although i don't , hopefully, plan to be towing a caravan too many times.
if stiffer springs are permanent, that results in a harsher ride?

also, real newbie question. these state they are adjustable, that mean it would lower my car, say by 30mm??

cheers
.
will no doubt send bren a pm also

Food for thought, I had a very noisy (knocking) shock on the rear of my STI and when a Subaru specialist looked at it he said...... Oh they all do that and just jacked it up and sprayed the shaft with WD40. Has been silent now for about 2 months. Even if it does come back I'm going to do what he did every now and again

It would however the stiffer springs will be on the rear so you shouldn't notice too much difference.

However upgrading from OEM to coilovers will make your ride firmer.

As stated they are adjustable so you can set the height at whatever you like.
Remember if you set them initially quite low then with your caravan attached your wheels may rub.

thanks for that, all things seem to be in order, next 'mission impossible' finding a garage to fit them. the subaru certified garage i use couldn't give me a quote as it is always a tricky job, 2nd garage said the same, 3rd garage gave a quote based on it taking him 45 mins to change a regular one, so 4 * that. plus alignment or something. 4 garages didn't have the correct tools to do it. 2 garages wanted to do it, but policy stated that they couldn't fit parts other than those ordered through them......

would i need a new mot test after the upgrasde?

cheers for the input

i've just been informed on the finnish subaru forum that these coilovers are not TÜV approved so every time i take the car for MOT it will fail due to this, unless i remove them-
