Default Do i need high temp paint for alloy wheels?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me. Do i need high temp paint to pain my alloy wheels. my wheels get really hot on track cos of the brakes. Or will normal paint do.

Can i source everything i need from halfrauds?

No, look at rally cars. I wouldn't think your wheels would not get as hot as theirs and they are fine.

i think powder coating is the best option, i have had mine painted and painted them many times myself.

i find rather than heat the brake pad dust tends to eat the paint.

i have been using performance friction pads but am going to try mintex ones as im sick of keep touching the wheels up.

My wheels were refinished aftermarket with laquer. Oddly the fronts started to flake from the centre out when I swapped to 4 pots, whilst the rears are fine. Most prob poor DIY job but odd coincidence...

I'll second that, I have had all my wheels powder coated and they are a lot harder wearing.

Definitely worth getting done.
