What is causing that knocking noise
My car has developed a knocking noise from near side rear im just wondering what it could be.
It started a couple of weeks ago and i thought is was the spare wheel cover so i removed it and it was still doing it then thought the exhaust and its not that either.
Its coming from the nsr wheel area i have drove off a curb this afternoon a few times and it knocks everytime my girlfriend did the same while i listened out side the car but there is no noise any sugestions?
thanks in advance

can be a few things but usually the anti roll bar drop link bush will have gone or a shocker top mount and lastly it could be a lateral link arm bush but I would check the droplinks first.
Good luck!

Have you checked the retaining pin in the brake calipers hasn't fallen out?
I remember on my my99 Scoob the front drivers one had fallen out and thus the calieprs were mocing about and knocking when braking or accelerating.

Check the Bumper mountings. My old car was knocking for ages, tried evrything to find what it was and it turned out some of the nuts were loose. I did these up and added extra ones where ever I could get them and problem solved
I have it as well, on a newage though. Removed the lot, jack, toolkit, jackhandle, tightened the spare right down. Looks like its the strut. There is a fix on scoobypedia but its for newage, Id imagine its the same problem. http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/KnockingNewageRearStruts

i had an annoying knock as well - removed my jack from inner wing and the noise is much better still got one though - now been told it may be my boot if I shake my spoiler my bonnet does bang so i need to re-adjust that
I put this thread up at the beginning of the month and the knocking has got really loud and can hear it over small bumps now anymore suggestions what it could be? it has had new rear shocks and drop links up to now, also it seems like its all over the road when driving on uneven roads, could it be the rear arms? if so where can i get them and how much?
thanks in advance

Ive got the same problem,
Ive replaced the both rear shocks, top mounts, exhaust hangers, drop links, anti roll bar bushes and subframe locking bolts
Now Ive ordered a set of rear cross member uprated bushes, to see if that sorts it , if not then its new rear uprated diff mounts.

The way Im seeing it is, Im replacing parts with better ones.
While Im trying to track down the the fault, plus its a learning curve for me in how things go together.
Slowly but surely, I will have a load of whilteline goodies on the backend.
The I will start over again on the front. I only do this when I have the spare cash or saved up for a while.

I was aware that somewhere there would be a link for that, but what can I say - I'm lazy and the quick reply box was already there!
Ive cured my knocking this morning, it was the 3 bolts that attach to the cross member they were loose.

While I was at it, I fitted the uprated cross member bushes. The rear end is solid now, but Ive got vibration noise now with the uprated bushes and subframe bolts fitted. It is a small price to pay for better handling.
Forgot to say, I got the bushes from:
