Default help and advice needed on scooby type r

hi im new to al scooby related and need sum help basically a mate ov mine is selling a type r wich was fully workin til the other day now it has a snapped valve and i cud buy the car cheap was just wondering if it was worth buyin also wether it needs a new engine or just a rebuild, where to get it rebuilt and prices if sum 1 could tel me that would be great thanks

Possibly 'just' a rebuild. Budget at spending £2k, possibly more, if you spend less then you're lucky.

so now im thinking is it worth it if its going to cost that much because its recently had a ful rebuild costin 2800 so wats to say it isnt goin 2 do it again

hes not realy a car killer to tell the truth he dont realy know much about them he only bought it cos his mate had 1 only ever used it for work and wen hes not workin usualy sat on his drive he payed 9 grand for it couple ov years ago but i can get it for a grand but like a said what if it keeps going rong al be skrewed but at the end ov the day surely the parts on it a worth mor than a grand alone arent they?

I'd say its worth it, if you get it into a trusted place to get the motor checked and built. Then you have just bought a Type R with a fresh rebuild for £3000, to me thats a bargain?!

yer thats wat a was thinkin just a shame its broke cos a was getin it for 3 grand anyway so would it be beter to buy a new engine or rebuild it?
