dump valve...age old question!
today i took off my bailey DV and put the standard re-circ valve back on.
it feels a bit more responsive during gear changes now.
this is my question....does anybody have some real technical facts as to the benefits of having a BOV vs benefits of keeping the standard re-circ?
or is it just a case of the psssst noise?

redline magazine did a test in the may issue on running a sunny gti-r with an atmospheric valve, a recirculating valve and no valve at all. The tests compared in gear acceleration and found that
The atmospheric valve performed the poorest going from 20 to 80 mph through the gears with a time of 7.83 secs.
Running with no valve at all ove the same increment posted a time of 7.12 secs.
The recirculating valve gave a time of 7.10 secs.
Just something to consider, as ive seen posts on here about the pros and cons of various styles of valve
