STi Import mileage checks?
#1
Whats the best method of checking the validity of the mileage on an import STi? I notice all of them seem to have low miles, generally. I know you can't really go far in Japan!

The only way to know true mileage is to own the car from new i'm afraid. Mechanical speedo's can be changed, and electronic ones can be altered. Full service history can help, but does not guarantee the car has been altered between services etc.
I usually find the best way is to cross your fingers, don't worry and enjoy driving the car

Agree, really no way to know the mileage of a jap import(and used UK car I suppose). It is true though that Japanese tend to do far less mileage than us.Other things can give you a clue I suppose ie condition of tyres, wearing of decals on switches etc.But as Clarey said best way is to cross your fingers thats what I do!

Thanks guys,
Thought as much. Clarey, I've seen yours in the sale section and really does look good. I'm really after a 50k miles max one, which I can keep for a few years. mine has done 110k, and although mechanicaly A1, I worry about it!
Sure you will have no probs selling though...
