You forgot the stiffeners, re-sealing the panels and stuff, probably replacing the pins that the trim clips hook onto, but it's not rocket science, can be done easily by a decent bodyshop.

As for ali roof. Aside from it being a right PITA, where on earth do you think you'll find such a thing, and why would you want to?

the ali thing.... was a after thought. just as its lighter. since writing thread i have thought against that idea. forr starters ali to steel aint gonna work weld wise.

whole reason for this is wanting to loose the cack aftermarket sunroof thats in it. its heavy, and creased my roof when i opened it the other day. i just want it gone!

Carbon is heavier than alloy

[QUOTE=Scoobyman1982;8874491]the ali thing.... was a after thought. just as its lighter. [q/uote]

You'd also have to have one custom made, which'd make it prohibitively expensive. The "lighter" thing is a red herring anyway - the differences would be small enough to be inconsequential, especially once you'd dealt with material thicknesses, bonding the aluminium to the steel of the body, sealing it all, yada yada.

since writing thread i have thought against that idea. forr starters ali to steel aint gonna work weld wise.
Exactly what I meant by it being a right PITA.
