I've just heard something really funny.

I went to the coffee machine about 10mins ago and there is two employees of the place I'm currently visiting. They're standing there looking out of the window at my WRX parked directly outside, one's saying "that's a nice car". I don't let on it's mine as I get my drink, then the other replies... "it's not bad, my golf GTi is just as quick"
I asked the lad what mods he's got on his Golf and he tell me a sports exhaust & K&N Filter.
I smiled and he asked what wrong, I told him he'd need more than that if he wanted to beat the WRX. He said "I left it standing the other night" and I replied "Yes, that's because I was driving to the national speed limit".
He realised I was the owner of the WRX and said "Oh, I thought there weren't that quick"

Typical GTi moron...

Some people just have no idea.

The number of times I've gone off quickly when lights change only to have some nutter zoom past me at well over the speed limit when I've reached a cruising speed.....

Dream on golf golf boy!

Still if i wanted to race round busy town centers then this is the obvoius choice!

Ironically, has anyone seen the latest Golf ads with all the silly mods on the Golfs and a tag line suggesting it's best to leave some things alone :-)

Check out

I must attact the attention of GTi's I went to Kwik Fit this morning to get my tracking checked as it felt incorrect.

Too right it was, the front right was 6mm out...

The mechanic there took it for a drive before adjustment to get an idea of what the symptoms were. He returned saying "Awesome Car" do you fancy swapping for my Golf GTi..
Argh... Another one, I said Oh, no thanks & when he went out of the reception I told his mate I wasn't a hairdresser.
He opened the door and shouted this to his mate, I was quite embarassed to say the least.

Heh heh that Golf advert....

Don't know about you lot but I am now subject to the quip "Who'd be sad enough to put a scoop on thier bonnet" by my mates

"Mine wasn't an option" is the default reply...

You let a Kwik Fit "mechanic" take your pride and joy for a test drive to verify the tracking!

Are you mad?

I'd be concerned letting them near my car with the tools required to check the tracking.

No offense intended but Kwik Fit fitters are not mechanics, only glorified grease monkies!

Red face

You really let a Kwikfit guy take your car out to check the tracking, I assume you went with him!!!???

After my recent experiences I've learnt alot, the hard way.

At least you got the tracking sorted which is the main thing.

Unhappy

That must make me a "typical Golf GTi" moron then

Do you guys ever read what you type.....

Most car owners I have met are individuals and are not all the same, one bad owner doesn't mean we are all the same.....but people like to stereotype don't they? Well Impreza prices continue to fall and soon they will become easily attainable to your average "GTI moron".....

Sadly you are right and i think that you have put this thread into perspective. I hate steriotyping and i just commited that sin.

As an outsider looking at that post i would have thought 'what an arrogant bunch of people, won't waste my time here'

This is not the case though. I stand corrected and apologise.

Thumbs up

Bloody hell that wasn't the response I was expecting Infact I thought that I'd get almost the opposite response.

I have many good friends with all manner of cars including Scoobies and Cossies (the supposedly arch enemies) and we all get on just fine enjoying our nice cars no matter which factory they came from.

My faith is restored

Right I am off round the town centre with my cap on backwards, windows down and stereo turned up nice and loud

Paul if you own a Scoob then your car is almost certainly better than mine
At least the shed as it is fondly known has a supercharger

I will be at Donno on sunday with some of the RSOC lads, if you see an aubergine LHD Mk2 GTi covered in muck that'll be mine, say hello if you are gonna be there.
