From today's Fleet News:

Police fleets are about to get their hands on one of the fastest cars in production as a rapid response vehicle.

Mitsubishi has prepared a demonstrator of the 280bhp Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI. The demonstrator complies with all police requirements and could be ordered by police forces after Mitsubishi gains ISO 9002 approval.

A Mitsubishi spokesman said, "It's not about speed - it's about image and this is good for the Mitsubishi brand.

The Evo VI has four-wheel drive, accelerates from 0-60mph in under five seconds and will reach 140mph flat out.
