none leave it standard imo.
If you however want one the HKS SSQV is meant to be alright

The general opinion is that the standard re-circ valve is the best. However, some like vta dump valves (which I assume you're referring to) and some don't. You'll get the "it makes no difference but I like the sound" gang, and you'll get the "if you wanna impress the 14 year old down maccy d's then go for it" gang.

If you are to get one, get a decent quality one. I personally had a Baileys one and it had a weak spring. Replaced it with a Forge one before selling the Scoob and it was much better in overall terms of quality and spring stiffness.

Me, personally, I like them, but not the daft loud ones like the HKS SSQV, the Forge one I had was perfect for what I wanted.

HTH, but prepare for the "you're a chav" comments

Andy

Is your Scoob a classic or one of the earliest newages?

You could have either from Scoobyparts.com...

Hi mate, I've tried a few different dump valves on my Type R, I'd recommend either the HKS SSQV or the Blitz Super Sound valve.

The Blitz is by far the loudest dump valve I've fitted, if you'd like more information just drop me a PM.

for me the hks is the one...
all others that go wooosshhh are "chav valves" like the bailey and forge
if you want to hear a hks one try youtube,,
a very original sound,and a proper "jap"car sound
all that go wooosshh should be on escort turbos

Ive got an APS dual vent dump valve available. These are awesome, they don't give stalling issues at low revs but sound great and the build quality is top notch as well.

Just removing the intake resonator makes the OE recirc DV more audible.
