Default Water leaks!

I've had a problem with the rear carpet on the drivers side getting soaked. I thought I'd cured it by sealing inside the floor and under the car but on Saturday we had a real downpour with hailstones and now the carpet's soaked again, and as it was just sitting in the drive, it must be coming in from above, somewhere?
Has anyone had similar problems on an 03 or similar age? I can only think it's finding it's way down the B pillar?
I'd like to remove the plastic strip in the channel (roof rack fixing?) on that side of the roof to check. Is there any possibility of water entering via that channel? (welded seam?) if so, how does the strip come off?
Any suggestion would be welcome!

If you have a sunroof, check the drain tubes which can sometimes run down the A & B pillars (other manufacturers) as these will let water in if not located correctly.

I can't speak from Scooby experience as I don't have a sunroof

The door seals seem ok - at least they seem to be compressed by the glass.
I do have some doubts about the rear window seal as I also get some leakage into the boot and have used sealant on it in the past.
I'll remove the plastic trim from the inside of the B pillar and have a look for evidence of water!

No sunroof, although I do know what you mean, as I had one on my '99 Impreza.
