what could the problem be?

Default what could the problem be?

hey peeps im new on here and i have a problem with my wrx
there is oil on my exhaust manifold at the bottom of the drivers side of the engine.it seems to be a gasket on the roker cover but i have been told they dont have gaskets on them .any ideas on where the oil could be leaking from?

Welcome and they definately have gaskets, so who ever told you they didnt needs a slap!

thanks pal do you know if they are prone to goin?
just its very difficult to see wer it is and its hard finding a machanic trust worthy of looking at your pride and joy hehe

The most common gasket leak are the rocker cover ones. About £100 for a garage to do it.

ye was finking that not had the car long so dont know when it was done last or how the previous owner treated the car.it was in pretty good condition when i got it just noisey from the ac but removing the belt got rid of that lol.
