Default STI 8 Replica Scoop insert ?

Have an STI 8 Replica bonnet scoop on the classic, but at speed the lip of it vibrates/wobbles so was wondering if theres anything that can be done to it to support it, an insert or anything like genuine ones etc ?

one day i can see it snapping off with the wind lifting it !

Add some fibre glass or resin epoxy to the inside of it.
That should strengthen it up a bit

you could put a metal support piece in the middle/front and secure/cover up with fiberglass.

yeah thats a factory job but i think you can do it yourself fairly easy as its just take time to get a good finish.

you could start off getting something like this (you'll problay have to move the 90 degree bend) depending on how big the opening of the scoop is -

Corner Braces Zinc Plated 103 x 103 x 22mm Pack of 10 - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

then use some p40 filler like this to secure it to top & bottom of inside of scoop -

David's Isopon P40 Kit 250ml from Halfords Price £6.99

or get a fiberglass kit - Fastglass Glass Fibre Kit (JNR) from Halfords Price £8.49

and finish off with p38 filler to give a nice finish.

or get something that already looks good and is L shaped to do the same job & secure to the scoop.
