Hope i am not teaching granny to suck eggs so to speak, but is everyone aware of the solid STI fog lamp covers available from Graham Goode for £49.99 a side. They are available in silver as well as WR blue and black.

WRXBOB: only 36 hours to go, envy you m8, dealer told me today I have another 10 - 14 DAYS to wait as there is a big demand from all 100+ dealers throughout the UK. The car SHOULD be arriving in 10 days MAX. The cars are currently in the hands of the transport distributor now (so the salesman says). Anyone else having delays with a UK supplied car ? Bear in mind though I only ordered on the 7th Feb.

Phil, I prefer the mesh, but I thought they were only available in WR blue ready painted from TSL. How did you do yours ?

Hi mate

I'm REALLY excited now

Went up to Bentley's to give them the money today, to save time Friday morning...its gonna be busy with customers Friday

Took my vision plus bulbs up (mains, dip & the free blue side lights) so the guy fitting the Morrettes could fit the bulbs...well it saves me doing it afterwards!

I fitted my White/clear side indicator lenses and side markers when I was there...easy to do when you know how(instructions come with them!) and they look excellent on the silver car

My reg plate was on it, the Sigma alarm was done, PDI'd and valeted.
Could be a problem though

They have a guy supply and fit the Morrettes for them,
well he's behind with jobs...so he's now due to fit them either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning! I'm due to pick the car up at 7.30 am Friday...if the Morrettes are not fitted I'm NOT going to be very happy...It will mean having to wait untill he's fitted them before driving away

But I suppose after waiting 6months for delivery, whats another hour?
About 50 miles thats what!

Harry_Boy, agonising waiting isn't it m8 ! Do TSL do a silver mesh cover ? They do a plain one that you have to paint yourself. But I don't know where to get the STI logo. Phils look good but I don't know where he sourced 'em from.

Envy WRXBOB, gets his car Friday

Can't wait for mine, at least I've still got me Turbo to play with till it arrives

Relax Bob - I'm sure they'll be sorted. Anyway, 7.30 is frighteningly early to be collecting a new car. Although you'll be just in time for the Sheffield rush hour(s)....

I'm off to Monty's tomorrow to collect some bits & pieces I ordered.

Bob,

I'm having the white indicators fitted as well. Must admit they look well on silver. You'll have to sit and drool over the car while the Morettes are being fitted, at least you get it Friday

About the Graham Goode site:

CGS991 Clear side repeater genuine pair £42.54
CGS994 Clear reflector pair £63.82

Subaru Parts:
J1010FE500 Side indicator lens set £30
J1010FE501 Side marker/reflector set £47.95

So that means its £106.36 from Graham Goode...
But only £77.95 from your local Subaru dealer !

Thats a difference of £28.41

Maybe the GG site is out of date?

Hi Yorkie - you're right - the wait is AGONISING.... I've just checked, and GGR and TSL only do the genuine STi covers in WR blue and blue-black. Post a message for Phil, and see what gives - his looks tasty.

At least you have something nice to play in - I'm carless ATM, and running around in my wife's mini MPV....

Bob,

I noticed that as well, rip off. I am paying £110 fitted. If I'd known how easy they are to fit like you say I'd have done it myself.

Yorkie,
When you say "having them fitted" your not paying for any labour are you?
The indicators AND side markers were fitted in LESS than 2minutes by myself and I'd NEVER done it before so wasn't 100% sure how they came off...an 8yr old could do it!

Are you having the side markers done as well or just the indicators?
IMHO on the silver car DO have both done. Best £77.95 I've spent in ages (From Monty's Subaru)

Harry_boy,

Looks like Phil has the answer.

Phil, how much is that in ££s and how long did you have to wait ?

Bob,

I'm having both done. In the brochure they are only £77 or something so I thought the extra £30 WAS the charge for labour. I will be contesting that now, especially as they are not supplying the car on the date promised

Yorkie,
If you want I will go to the dealer with you and fit them while you watch...they are SO easy to do!
Or I will show you my car and demonstrate how to do it. Then if the dealer tries to say its more difficult than that, you can show him how easy it is to do!

Cheers

Phil,
Do you still have the stencil?

Then it could be used on the TSL one's for £65+vat (£76.38)

What would they look like if ALL the mesh was sprayed silver instead of having the STi logo on them?
Not sure that I would want the STi logo on them...Oh I don't know?
So many things to spend the money on!

Phil, you mentioned stencils, did you have to spray the whole covers yourself ?

Good evening chaps !
Seems as though all you prospective new scooby owners (listen to him, only had it 3 weeks !) are getting sorted personalising your new motors. I,m a bit slow off the mark and just received the Powerbulbs ready for fitting tomorrow.
Have any of you guys considered a new back box yet ?
I assume that with most of us having euro-imports PPP is out for at least 12 months ???
At the moment I'm considering the Prodrive, scoobysport or TSL back boxes but not had any first hand experience of comparing them.
Any thoughts from you guys ?

Think a trip to a track day or local meet is needed before i jump in !

Good evening Graham

I'm thinking about a bb

Looking at either the TSL or Scoobysport option.
and I understand TSL are the Midlands outlet for Scoobysport stuff so no need to go to Basildon for it!

Thinking of having the geometry check/adjust at TSL. Word has it its worth it. Too much use of the word "it" in the last sentence...6 words in total and 3 were "it"...should have worked harder at skule

BOB

hope to organise a local mini meet soon...end of March early April ish?
