Cobra Exhaust
I have seen the Cobra exhaust advertised in the traders area. Currently have a Prodrive exhaust on my 05 WRX with sports cat 100 cell.
I am looking for more grunt from the back box. Does anyone have experience of the Cobra System?
Thanks,
Shailan

cobra exhaust
i have the 5 1/2" cobra sport backbox on my MY93 wrx classic and it certainly does give off a grunt! 80mph on the motorway and i couldn't hear what my mate was saying next to me! there is going to be a lot of people saying that there are others that are much louder but this is the loudest on a scooby i have heard in the flesh. there are 4 cars down my road with alarms and they all go off when i go past them! nuff said!

Have got 3" middle section with 5" tail pipe both Cobra - trust me it is bloody loud. So loud that I got pulled over by the coppers only 2 days ago - they thought there was something wrong with it!
Run full decat with it and it will wake up the dead!

Just wait till you are fully decat.....I'm expecting a write up on here with difference! Put it this way, a mate driving his classic with full decat heard me whilst he was driving on the opposite side of a dual carriageway on the A3!

A lot of systems are loud yes but, & this is only my opinion, most are what I would call "gobby" loud. Rather than deep bass goes right through you & makes your bones vibrate loud.
GOBBY COBRA sound clip
Then listen to the deeper note of the Blitz Nur Spec R & tell me the hairs on the back of your neck didn't twitch just a little bit.
BLITZ sound clip
I am totally biased though as I have a Blitz on my "not so" Stealthy Wagon.
I in no way dispute that the Cobra is loud, just not to my taste. Each to their own & all that.

I wouldn't want to water down the finish that has taken a lot of time & money to get to a certain level.

you say the cobra sounded gobby? thats because it was a catback and not a full system i have a full system on my car right now and sounds awesome and the blitz is what double the price?

I've heard the Cobra and imho I believe it to be too loud and a 'Barry' exhaust.
The Blitz is also too loud (I had one on my old MY00), but it is superbly made.
My personnal choice would be to go for a quiet one. Do you really want to sound like the local Corsa/Saxo kids?
Just my hunble opinion....

I'd personally spend the extra cash and mate a Nur Spec-r with a decat downpipe of your choice. Had several exhausts on my 3 Scoob, and the Nur Spec-r was by far the best sounding, the best made and the best looking one of the lot. Nothing against Cobra and the company that make them, but they're a Max Power favourite. Need I say more?
So in summary, I'd get a decent s/hand Nur Spec-r for what £250 now?, and mate it with either a new decat downpipe (£150-170) or s/hand one (£100).
Certainly wouldn't buy any of the crap advertised on Ebay either.
