Default Wrapping a PPP sport cat, should i do it?

Hi guys,

I've just taken delivery of sports cat off a ppp system. When I was looking on ebay I found some that had jackets around the cat, while others (like mine) didn't.

Should I wrap the cat to keep the temps up or will I end up damaging something? Also the second decat pipe has an factory fitted heatsheild on it, is it worth replacing this with wrap or am I wasting my money?

Thanks in advance, Rich.

The early PPP cats had a wrap, but the later ones didn't. I think they have ridges round the main body. If it is a later one, then it won't need wrapping.

I haven't seen any 2nd decat pipes with heatshields, so I imagine its not needed. I can see the need to shield the hot cat, but not if it is removed.

All PPP 2nd Decat pipes have the factory heatshielding fitted IIRC, I personally would leave it on dont see what benefits wrapping it would do

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure, so I thought I'd ask before wasting money!
